Clerical Medical Conference Gifts
Clerical Medical wanted to give their international sales force a gift as a relevant and motivational incentive to encourage a final push to qualify to attend their sales conference in the USA. I discovered that California and Nevada had been the scene of gold and silver rushes. For the pre conference gift we made key rings using a blob of polished brass that looks like a gold nugget that might have been panned out of a stream in Nevada. Made by a craft worker in Wales, each one is utterly unique as a measured amount of metal is dropped into a vat of water where it cools into its unique shape. The nugget was presented in a suede pouch with brass closing ring that is also reminiscent of the period.
As a parting gift after the conference, attendees were presented with a very heavy, solid brass paperweight in the shape of a gold ingot with the conference logo engraved on it.
